Gareth was a lot of things to so many different people ; a Son to my mum Kath and Dad Mick(passed away 1993) , a Dad to Jordan and Morgan, a Brother to Michelle, Matthew, Michael and myself , a Husband to Ann-Marie, a best friend to Pip, Darren and Troy , an Uncle, Nephew ....... the list is endless.
Gareth was taken away from us on the 8th June 2008, he took his own life which some people may think is a very selfish thing to do , however Gareth had decided that he wanted to be with my Dad in heaven and i completely respect his wish.
Gareth left me with so many memories , i am going to share a few with you all however some i am keeping safe in my heart ... Forever.
- The times he used to show off with Darren at the swimming pool at Germany , jumping off the highest diving board , backwards sometimes . I used to look on in amazement thinking he was some kind of Super Hero.
- Gareths love for motor bikes/cross. We went to watch him and Darren racing once . I had seen him go round once but then we seemed to be stood for ages for him to come round again. Then in the distance we saw him WALKING with the bike a bit crumpled ... he hit a tree . OH how we laughed.
- When we moved back to England , Gareth wanted to make sure me and Michael grew up able to look after each other so he pulled our hands down a brick wall whilst we sang 'whats new pussy cat' . I thank him for this strangely enough.
- Gareth getting ready to go out - R.E.M , orange Rockport jumper and Fahrenheit and ages in the bathroom
There is so many memories and now these are all i have , i will always keep these safe.
I know your with Dad now, safe !! I know that you will be causing havoc up there - both of ya !! The first thing i thought when i found out you had left me was ' but Gareth said he would always look after me' , i was scared but then realised like with Dad you are still around and will never really leave me.
I will never ever forget you Gareth , you were my brother and i love you dearly . Please wait for me up there.
The poem i read at Gareths funeral
I am your little Sister,
You are my oldest Bro,
You promised to look fter me,
Make me smile when i was low.
When Dad was taken from us,
You stood up too the mark,
You wanted to protect us,
Make us happy when times were dark.
When me and Michael were growing up,
You always used to say,
'Make sure you hold your own out there,
Now go on out and play'.
You taught me many things in life,
Most importantlt to be strong,
The words to Marching on Together,
And never to admit when your wrong.
I will never ever forget you Gareth,
All the precious times we had,
The only comfort now Brother,
Is you are together with our Dad.
Marching on Together i will hear the Leeds fans cheer,
I will watch for you and Dad in the crowd,
Probably sharing a beer.
One last thing to say,
And i will say it to the crowd,

You always did me proud!

Jordan has been stuggling alot lately Gareth hes angry with a lot of people to do with you but im hopin that we are on the up with him, he needs to know you are about n watching him, hes had his work experiance the other week n did really well in it, he was at BMW in the bodyshop department its not what he wanted to do but since been there hes enjoyed it n thinking bout aplyin for an apprenticeship he says my dad would be pleased ha!! i told him you would be pleased in anything he does. ive just got a report from BMW n it a glowing report they speak very highly of him n said look forward to seeing him in the future, fingers crossed. PLEASE let him know you here for him.
